Next Phase Life Coaching
The second half of life can hold a lot of loss and need for change.
We tend to face more serious illness, either our own or our partners. When we retire, we lose our work that provided built-in sense of accomplishment. Our identities suffer. Often, we move to climates more conducive to our way of life.
We look ahead and worry. We know the future holds more loss. Loss of friends and family members. Loss of our own health, mobility, and independence. We lose our social networks and sense of identity when we retires. We lose our friends and community as we relocate to places more conducive to our current stage of life.
And we start to realize that, yet, we too will face the end of our own live?
- More time to do what we've always wanted to do.
- Freedom to live as we choose, on our own schedule.
- The opportunity to make the best friends we've ever had
- Less need to live by other peoples' rules or timelines
- More choice in how we contribute to the world around us.
So many retirees rock this chapter of life in spite of all that loss.
They do it because they don't leave their future up to chance. They get clear on how they want to live and develop the skills and practices to create their future. They also learn to master the challenges and difficult emotions of this big life transition so they don't lose touch with their dreams or connection to their life purpose.
As a life coach, I help clients create and take committed action quickly. Having guidance and support gets you on the right path and helps you build momentum. Also, I become your partner for life challenges that are too big to face alone.

Hi there. I'm Cindy Olney, PhD, a life coach, educational psychologist, and end-of-life doula.
The year of 2017 was the year of my personal threshold crossing. My mother started actively dying at the same time that my career of 15 years hit the skids. As I companioned my mother through her death, i knew I needed a fresh start. I vowed to get her to the other side, give notice at my job, and create a service that would guide and support people through death and loss toward a brighter future.
It felt so good as I sat deep into the night. Actually pulling off a major life changed after loss was a completely different story.
Yet I would not trade the life lessons for anything in the world. Nor my new sense of purpose: to accompany people through grief over loss and toward hope of a new, fulfilling life.
